Repurposing Clothes Hangers
It doesn't take much elbow grease to create this adorable cloud mobile.
I made this with just my fingers (no special pliers needed). Obviously, you can't do this with an exceptionally heavy gauge wire hanger! So get one that is more pliable. Cut and sew raindrop-shaped fabric stuffed with some nylon filling material. Attach to "clouds" with crochet thread and you're done!

Repurposed Everyday Stuff for Storing Holiday Decor
I have to admit that we have not yet taken our Christmas lights down since the year before Alonzo was born. The old Christmas cards that I so enthusiastically framed on to our photo divider have even been there for far longer than that (gasp!). Last year's appreciation wreath (a tradition that I started three years ago) have also been on display the entire year, albeit unintentionally at first (will talk about that some other time).
Anyway, here's something that could help you guys pack and store your Christmas decor. Check out Yahoo! She.

DIY Money and Bill Organizer
Let me share with you a simple project that could help you put a little order in your budgeting chores. This actually came out as my very first article for Yahoo! She.
Now would you believe that the idea for this project is from my husband? No, he isn't even close be being "crafty" or "artsy" but he knows a thing or two about keeping the budget in check with his kuripot ways.
For this project all you’ll need are the following:
Several pieces of used mail envelopes
Glue or double-sided tape
Board paper or any sturdy paper material such as magazine covers, old calendars, posters, etc.
Step 1: Cut the flaps off the envelopes

Step 3: Fold a piece of board paper in such a way that it encloses the envelopes

Step 4: Glue or tape onto the envelopes.
Step 5: Make little labeling tabs by folding in half small pieces of blank paper
and attaching them with glue to the individual envelopes

DIY Tiered Tin Can Organizer/ Tray
This is a project I made for Yahoo! She several months ago. I didn't know (until just recently) that The Frugal Female featured it in her blog.
Check out the article here just in case you missed it at Yahoo! She.
Have a great weekend!

Repurpose a Box into a Bookshelf
I used a lot of these cardboard storage boxes to hold my old notes, journals, reports during grad school.
I am was pretty OC about keeping my school stuff in order and organized (alright, I admit, i was a bit of a nerd).
Anyway,I recently purchased a couple of storage boxes for a little project I did for our living room. I only used the box covers and I didn't know what to use the actual boxes for. A light bulb moment came and hit me as I was starring at some of Alonzo's books.
Just a little side note: early this year we planned to "convert" SIL's room into a playroom and mini library for Alonzo. SIL has migrated to Australia five years ago, by the way.
We have succeeded in our plan about the playroom but most of Alonzo's books still have been kept in our room.
I wanted to keep all of his toys and a few of his books out of the room where we co-sleep. His favorite bedtime books, however, will remain in our bedside table.
And although SIL's room/ Alonzo's playroom/ mini library has an entire wall space of shelves it still holds most of SIL's books and other stuff (it is still her room, after all!). The open shelves on the lower half can only display some of Alonzo's toys (the rest are stored in baskets we bought at Dapitan about a year ago). Most of his books lie on the middle shelving area (still a little too high for his height), making it hard for him to see and take them out whenever he wants.
And this is where my DIY bookshelf comes in.
Simply put one box over the other and you could already call it a "book shelf". What could be easier?
Obviously, it can't be used to hold a volume of encyclopedia!
You may place a piece of plywood between the two boxes for support and secure them together with pretty duct tape (yes, they are out there! I found plain colored ones at National Bookstore but the printed ones are available online). I plan to do this soon and will be posting how they turn out.

More on re-purposing Baby's Old Stuff
Hubby and I are in the process of a general house cleaning.
We started last weekend (taking advantage of the long weekend)and was back into it the whole day today.
So far we have freed ourself of several bags of trash!
I am hoping that our de-cluttering would earn me an entire cabinet space for all my craft-related stuff.
Anyway, I cannot get over how I have been able to re-use and re-purpose Alonzo's old baby things. Most of them are being used to keep my crafting stuff organized.
I have shared a couple of articles on this topic at Yahoo! She before. Check it out, just in case you missed it. And here's another article that I forgot to post.
